Vallepicciola with an Extra Virgin Olive Oil bounded to the Tuscan traditions
The agricultural farm Vallepicciola, situated in Castelnuovo Berardenga near to the picturesque city of Siena, is renowned for its Chianti variety as well as for international varieties like Pinot Nero, Merlot and many more.
Aiming to a brand extension strategy, the Vallepicciola farm created a new line of extra virgin olive oil, 100% made in Italy.
This product wants to narrate its territory, its traditions and the “Made in Tuscany” excellence and in order to convey this message Switch On Communication & Media designed a new label, following the previous brand identity but also going further.
For the design of this label, Switch On entrusts the concept of total black for elegancy and practical reasons. The black glass bottle combines the concept of the black label which, in addition to its aesthetic value, takes on the function of best preserving the organoleptic properties of this EVO oil.
Beside the black and gold tones, the traditional logo of Vallepicciola stands out: “King Berardo”, king of the folklore stories and words of wisdom, the oral tradition handed down in Casal Berardenga. Furthermore, the fluid lettering used for the words “Extra virgin olive oil” wants to remind to the hills and valleys of Tuscany.
The label is printed on Arconvert’s Tintoretto Gesso Greasproof, a pure ECF pulp, felt-marked paper with a barrier to oils and greases. The feared problem of the oil stain on the label is eliminated thanks to the Greaseproof treatment, which allows the label, to maintain an impeccable appearance even when it comes in contact with vegetable oil and grease. Added directly into the paper pulp it prevents the oil to penetrate even along the edges of the label.
