Crazy Uncle Moonshine has a memorable and shelf-impact label thanks to the design created by Jarrod Fuller and to the printing experts of Multi-Color Australia.

As pioneers in the field of Australian whiskey making, Whipper Snapper Distillery was born from the determination of two young Aussie men and a recipe refined from one side of the world to the other. The Whipper Snapper Distillery is hand crafting a range of premium whiskeys that is set to redefine the sector. These are the Australia’s first urban whiskey distillery crafting products made from 100% local West Australian grains.

The Crazy Uncle Moonshine is the Australia’s first legal moonshine: 100% West Australian Grains, 80% corn, 10% malt and 10% wheat. The word Moonshine – which means “in the moonlight” – is an American term coined to indicate a distillate, normally of corn, produced by hand and clandestinely. In fact, the moonshine is born as an illegal distillate which could not be produced in the sunlight and does not even spend a day in a cask.

Since, Crazy Uncle Moonshine is the Distillery’s first product to market, it was extremely important to create a packaging that was both memorable and delivers shelf impact. This label is designed by Jarrod Fuller, the founder of Zendoke: a brand identity and design studio based in Perth, Australia.

The label of Crazy Uncle Moonshine was inspired by a straight jacket which is hand applied and wraps around the entire bottle “restraining” the moonshine within. To accentuate different textual qualities of the label to give the impression of canvas, metal and leather, comes into play MCC Australia & New Zealand.

On this label, the printing experts used both clear and bronze foil embellishments to highlight a specific area of the design project to make it stand out from the label. With these embellishments the label is even more eye-catching and memorable.

Both designer and printer were inspired by the Arconvert’s self-adhesive paper Cotone Bianco Ultra WS. Cotone Bianco Ultra WS, with its natural texture and white nuance, is a tree-free self-adhesive paper made of 100% cotton fiber. Thanks to the Ultra WS treatment, it is ideal for slowing graying and wrinkling on bucket labels. Furthermore, it contains a special mold inhibitor which makes it particularly suitable for the labeling of quality products that age in the cellar.
