Bulldog Studio designed a funny wine label inspired by the nightlife for the Carnaval wine.
Bodegas Murviedro was founded in 1927 by the Schenk family, who currently dwell at the town of Requena; a land with over a thousand years or wine making history and where you can find world unique autochthonous grape varieties.
Its continental climate with Mediterranean influence provides its wines with a characteristic personality, that tinges them with remarkable nobility and softness.
Murviedro comes from Latin “Muri Veteres”, the old town walls that embrace the old Villa of Requena and that witnessed numerous battles during the Reconquista period.
The briefing with the agency Bulldog was very precise: the designers has to create a single product that works in two very different markets, north of Europe and USA. Since then, they have supported Bodegas Murviedro in generating two different names – one for each market – and trying to find a unified graphic design that would have the same meaning in both markets. Thus, highlighting the high-end product and its careful production.
Inspired by the nightlife and glamour world, the look and the feel of this label is not only noticeable in the design elements but also in the name: Hedonic for the United States and Carnival for Europe. The choice of the label design reinforces this idea. The label is made on Tintoretto Gesso, the pure ECF pulp paper, felt-marked on both sides, produced by Arconvert. Applying a silk-screen with a glitter and braille finish, was the finishing touch to give a point of exclusivity and brilliance to this funny wine label.
