Since 1865 the family Domènech has worked with passion the lands of Penedes to obtain the best product from the vineyards. With passion, personality and tradition of more than 140 years of experience, the five generations of the Vallformosa winemakers have produced wines and cavas.
This DO Terra Alta wine – Garnatxa Negra Syrah 2016 – has a unique character: the seriousness mixes with a casual touch while the aging mixes with a freshness taste and texture.
To highlight the personality of this Vallformosa red wine, the Bulldog studio has thought of a very special naming and design concept, using a visual joke and a vintage touch. The name Cap De Pera is not only referring to the Spanish municipality located in the autonomous community of the Balearics, Majorca. This term is also used as an affectionate mockery: cap de pera is a funny way to say that you are a donkey. From this joke, the designers started to think about the concept of having an elegant man with a pear instead of his head.
One more time the design highlights the unique and casual-chic character of this wine. In addition, the graphic concept easily adapts to all the varieties of the Vallformosa wine range, declining the protagonists of the label design according to the characteristics of the wine.
The self-adhesive paper that Bulldog studio used is Pegasus, produced by Arconvert. The uncoated paper made from pure natural ECF pulp, with a soft-touch and felt marked surface and the Ultra WS treatment, offers some tonalities and textures ideal for this project and for the digital printing.
